Which one, for whom, how much
Soft Ferret compares software on price, renewal jump and catch. Every price carries the date it was checked.
Soft Ferret is part of the Future Begins network. Pasha runs it.
The job is narrow. You want to know which VPN, password manager or backup tool to buy, who it suits and what it costs after the first bill. So each roundup starts with the answer, and the reasons come after.
Where the picks come from
Vendor pricing pages, audit reports and changelogs. When a vendor's page won't load or shows the wrong currency, the number comes from a named third party, and the page tells you who. Forum reports get labeled as forum reports.
None of this rests on long-term hands-on use. Nobody here ran 43 products for a year, and no page will pretend otherwise.
That has a cost. You won't read how an app feels in month six. You will read that NordVPN's 2-year deal renews at EUR 139.08 a year on its own page, with the date that was checked.
How the order gets decided
Price, limits and catches, against the named rival in the same table. The order isn't for sale.
Sarcasm goes at marketing with a number attached. Vendors get to answer with a better number.
Spot a price that's changed? The check date on the page tells you how old it is.
Questions you should ask a site like this
Have you used all of these products for years?
No. Picks come from vendor pricing pages, audits and changelogs, and from outlets named on each page. They don't come from long-term hands-on use.
Can a vendor pay for a higher spot?
No. The order isn't for sale. Vendors pay a commission on some links. Your price doesn't change, and neither does where a product lands.
Why do some prices show EUR?
Some vendor pages showed only EUR when read. Where USD couldn't be confirmed, the page says so and gives the EUR figure if there is one.
